WHATEVER YOUR TIME, SKILLS, OR PASSIONS…

you can ignite change in the lives of local children and their families. Your gifts help Nabor House support our families, continue to grow our current programs, open new learning centers, and offer continued training and resources to our staff. Volunteers are needed at both Nabor House locations.

Apply to join our organization and become eligible to volunteer. All roles involving direct interaction with children require completion of an orientation and a background check.

INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Classroom Volunteer: Classroom volunteers serve directly alongside our teachers by working with children one-on-one or in small groups. Build relationships, offer encouragement, and create moments of joy that help children feel seen and valued. Background check required

  • Best times: 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 3:00–5:00 p.m.

  • Midday opportunities (12:00–2:30 p.m.): assisting with nap routines, classroom organization, and activity preparation

Office Volunteer: Behind-the-scenes volunteers strengthen our daily operations by organizing materials, preparing gifts for teachers and mothers, assisting with events, and helping with administrative tasks. Their service frees our staff to focus more fully on caring for children and families. Office Volunteers help administratively at the centers but do not interact directly with the children. Background check is required.

Summer Program Volunteer: Summer Program (June and July) Volunteers assist teachers and staff during our summertime fun. Tasks may include: prepping activities, setting up for Splash Day, Sundae Day, Watermelon Day, bubble activities, sensory walks, etc. Come and enjoy the fun! Background check is required.

Parent Event Volunteer: Support our monthly parent events by offering hospitality, encouragement, and mentorship to families. These evenings foster connection, growth, and hope as parents build community and develop practical skills. Events are typically held one Friday evening per month.

GROUP VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

When groups serve together, their impact multiplies. From beautifying our campuses to encouraging teachers and families, whether in the classroom or by supporting our centers through service projects such as teacher or parent appreciation, garden and landscaping work, facility improvements, and special maintenance projects, these shared efforts beautify our campuses, encourage our teachers and families, and strengthen the environment where children learn, grow, and feel loved.

Groups must be pre-scheduled with the appropriate center volunteer coordinator (see below). Please contact the location's volunteer coordinator to discuss the appropriate signup steps. Background checks may be required depending on the activity.

Examples of Group Volunteer Opportunities: Garden Maintenance, Landscaping, Teacher Appreciation, School Events
