NHC designs its early childhood centers so that children are divided into groups by age, with each classroom addressing multiple learning domains through play-based centers. The Christ-centered environment keeps the focus on the Truth while nurturing consistent relationships with teachers who consistently share God’s love, grace, and forgiveness with each child.

NHC meets the need for active learning by utilizing a combination of The HighScope and The Mighty Messages curricula. Mighty Messages address 12 essentials truths about God that are interwoven throughout the curriculum and supported by intentional teaching and deliberate outreach to the families. The HighScope curriculum allows children to learn about the world through a variety of creative and structured play activities by focusing on five basic principles: active learning, positive adult-child interactions, a child-friendly learning environment, a consistent daily routine, and child assessment.

NOTE:  Staff development is a continuous process involving over 80 hours of annual training.
